Nice to Meet You!

ABOUT ME

When I was in secondary school, I always thought it would be fun to teach for a while before I decided on a career. I needed a breather from the pressure of worrying about SPM results. I knew I was good with kids and figured spending the day with them wouldn't be too different from when I was a facilitator at camp. I also love science and chemistry and wanted to make them love it, too. The school schedule is great and I have a lot of time to do other things after the school sessions.

As a secondary teacher, I have some reasons that I think they are right reasons why do I chose to be an educators. The four main reasons cited by me are:
I genuinely like young people and want to help them learn and grow
I have a desire to impart knowledge about a subject that I love
I have an interest and excitement about the process of teaching and
I have a desire to perform a valuable service for society.
Besides that, I want to "make difference" in the world of teaching and this is as a vocational mission to help my communities.

As a young and fresh graduate in chemistry, it is expected for me to take the responsibilities of teaching courses offered by the university which known as Diploma Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah. The teacher is, more or less, need to be an expert in his or her area of specialisation. But, I have never before taught a class nor have ever taken any courses on how to teach. So, the resort to role models who are, more often than not, is my former lecturer.

I'm trying my best to make this e-Portfolio as a source of Chemistry Education which able for those who need to find information about chemistry education especially for form 4 students and teachers. In this e-Portfolio, you are able to see my teaching philosophy, lesson plans, reflections and videos which relate with my teaching skills at school. Perhaps, my e-Portfolio can give some benefit for you even it is not a complete reference, but I hope you can get something new from here. Please give your comments about my e-Portfolio, hence I could improve the contents of my portfolio. TQ!
